Better GK animations and Save Inputs.

I’ve spent a significant number of hours playing as a goalkeeper in *Rematch*, and I’d like to share some feedback regarding the current control mechanics and animations. While the experience is enjoyable, there are a few input-related issues that don’t seem to make sense and could be improved to benefit the overall gameplay.
One key issue I’ve noticed involves analog stick inputs. When aiming toward the bottom corners, there appears to be no corresponding animation, and the goalkeeper often dives high instead. If I’m aiming low, I believe the dive should accurately reflect that direction. Similarly, when aiming toward the top left or top right, the keeper sometimes dives straight upward rather than diagonally. This feels unintended and may be a bug. I’ve observed this happening frequently—not only to myself but to many other goalkeepers as well.
As a goalkeeper, precision is crucial. Since the game refers to us as the “final boss,” our performance should rely heavily on accurate positioning and responsive diving animations. These mechanics should reward skill and input accuracy rather than relying on automated outcomes. For example, it would be great if we could stop close-range dribbles or short passes with a controlled low-dive animation instead of depending on the game to decide the result.
Additionally, I would love to see more goalkeeper save animations introduced, particularly for:
* Close-range passes and shots
* Low-driven shots
* Bottom-corner saves
Enhancing these aspects would improve realism, responsiveness, and overall player satisfaction for those who specialize in the goalkeeper role.

Danny MergedCountless times I've delt with the animations not matching my inputs and leading to goals that most certainly should have been saved. Someone shoots bottom left I aim my analog stick there and dive just to get an animation where I jump top left and now they get a free goal. Someone shoots it directly at me my player makes the animation but then the animation doesn't catch the ball and there is another free goal. It feels so underwhelming havening animations dictate who wins and loses and this seriously needs to be looked at.

Thalesmane MergedTo simplify and add technicality to gameplay I’ve come up with a system for gk. Just like how the ball handler has a high and a low option for dribbling it should be the same for the dive animations. Y would be a normal or low dive while modifier button+Y would be a high dive . All the animations we have now would just be categorized as one or the other. This would allow for better setups on keeper and more purposeful dives by keepers. This would make the gameplay loop more strategic and engaging.

Thalesmane MergedHolding RB+Y would be high dive while Y would be regular low dive. All gk dive animations would just be placed one of the two categories. This way keeper has more control of his dives and can pre dive more skillfully. And strikers can have setups on gk like all low balls then switch to a high shot to catch them of guard.

Zman MergedGoalkeeping mechanics need an urgent adjustment. Currently, goalkeepers often fail to dive towards the ball, even for easy shots. In 1v1 situations, the goalkeeper jumps at the player from top to bottom, which is highly unrealistic and illogical.
Furthermore, the diving animations are flawed during certain shots; the goalkeeper doesn't jump properly, allowing the ball to go right over their hand. The opposite also happens—sometimes the ball is low, yet the goalkeeper dives high, which makes no sense.
Finally, recent updates have consistently buffed attackers while nerfing goalkeepers, which significantly reduces the overall value and effectiveness of the goalkeeping role.
