New goalkeeper mechanic: spread save for enhanced realism and 1v1 control
I believe adding a spread save mechanic for goalkeepers would be an amazing improvement to the game. This action would allow the keeper, in 1-on-1 situations, to expand their body, extend their legs, and use their foot to block close-range shots, replicating real-life techniques used in professional football and futsal.
This mechanic would not only add greater realism, but also more tactical depth, as players would need to choose the right moment to execute it. It could also work as an extension of the current goalkeeper system, allowing more manual control in critical situations.

It never really made sense to me how Goalkeeper doesn't have this given Extra Effort Dives on field are different from regular or even sprinting dives. -

GBKI was about to suggest the same thing before I saw your post. I don't think they need to add a new button for it too. It should trigger when you hit the "slide" button after or during the shot animation. I also attached an image for reference

GBKFollow up to my previous comment: https://rematchbetafeedback.featureupvote.com/suggestions/706253/comment/779503#comment779503 I think it should give the keeper a slightly increased hitbox. But it only results in deflections--no grabs allowed
