Starting Positions
Create a “press X button to become GK” button UI that would show during celebrations and importantly at the beginning of every match. Whoever presses the button first spawns in the net as GK.

LDT MergedPossibility to tag as Goalkeeper/Defender/Forward in quick and competitive match.
The actual number of ingame players make this difficult, because some queue time risk to become to long, but in a complete competitive game i want to see this feature. -

pocketjoeIn my opinion the only actual position that this should be for is goalkeeper, because this game is ultimately about fluid positioning.
Essentially make it so the starting goalkeeper rotates through people who have selected "Goalkeeper" in some UI box, but rotates through everyone as normal if no one has selected it. -

dotdotokI'm mixed on this. I feel like the idea of "specialization"/roles is a bit at odds with the spirit of the game (football with total fluidity, no bounds, penalties, or offsides).
And I think you could be missing out on good options if you aren't willing to rotate in-to/out-of goal in the middle of a point:
A) Did you just sprint/EE down field to help defend, leaving your character with an asthma attack? Take over the box while your gloriously full-stamina ex-sweeper outruns the similarly-tired opponents
B) Is the enemy with the ball staring your goalie down on the opposite side of the box as you? Instead of wasting time/stamina sprinting across the field yourself, tell your goalie he's good to charge over the line to contest, while you're ready to recover if he loses the 1v1 or the opponent takes a wild shot -

NinjerOpting in and out of being a GK is fine. But 'who presses a button first ' is dumb imo. Designated keepers in this game are annoying. Constantly begging to go in. I want to do my turn in the goal and then go play out of the goal without having to battle for the chance to play keeper.
